Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a mild sedative delivered through a small mask that fits over your nose in order to help relax you during dental procedures. Its calming effects are not intended to put you to sleep, so you will be conscious and able to communicate with Dr. Clifton, but you will also be able to relax as the procedure takes place. Once the mask is removed, the doctor will ask you to breathe normally for a few minutes and the effects will subside almost immediately. We will discuss before and after sedation instructions with you.
